Bec 3 headed to Petchey at the weekend looking to get back to winning ways after a series of close games. Although Becmas was the night before, Bec 3 were ready and eager to get going. First attack was John D, Craig, Megan and Kim, with first defence being Dan, Joe, Anshul and Christelle. The game started well for Bec as some clever movement and clinical finishing earned the team in yellow a 2 goal lead. In defence, John was unforgiving as he landed two big blams. Joe was quick to follow with a blam of his own. Highbury kept up with the score though as both teams continued to trade goals throughout the first half. Dan and Joe were solid at the post as Anshul and Christelle unleashed their pace to create chances. Luke came into the game and fitted in well into the attack, combining with John to generate more goals for the team. A final ‘Kobe’ from John ensured Bec 3 went into half time with a narrow lead.
The second half continued much like the first with Bec maintaining their lead. Megan and Kim continued to bring the fire with both of them nailing some long shots. Anshul and Christelle proved they were a fearsome duo as they often found themselves free after breezing past their players. The boys down this end also demonstrated their strength in attack as Joe converted well from under the post. The game ended with another goal from John and a well-deserved goal for Christelle. Overall, a strong defensive performance from Bec and plenty of chances created in attack. The team will only continue to grow from here and generate some bigger score lines in the future!
