Bec Junior's Revival

It’s been quite a year for the Bec Juniors section of our club. The attendance for the first month (up to 5!) had us worried. But thanks to partnerships formed with 3 local schools, Fircroft Primary School,Furzedown Primary School & Graveney School in addition to selling the sport at the Furzedown Big Day and Active Wandsworth-Get Active Wandsworth Festival we were able to significantly increase – and sustain – our numbers as the year progressed. Numbers peaked in the late 20’s; which to put into perspective is a five-fold increase compared to the first month! Many Becstars offered their help throughout the year, but Bec Junior Officer Davesh Patel would like to pay special mention and thanks to Chloe Swain, Amie Swain, Lisa Swain, Billy Ashby & Caitlin Fitzgerald for going into schools and delivering korfball during curriculum time which proved to be the catalyst in reviving the Bec Juniors. With the new season upon us we’re looking to build on the momentum of last year and build more partnerships with local schools; but if you’d like to beat the “school rush” and get involved from the start then please get in touch with us (becjuniors@gmail.com) or simply come along to our training sessions (commencing Tuesday 12th September)… oh and did we mention that the first 4 sessions are completely free to newbies! A sport for both girls and boys… what better way to try something new, make friends, get fit & have fun! WHEN: 6:30pm – 7:30pm Every Tuesday (Term Time Only) WHERE: Graveney School Sports Hall, Welham Road, SW17 9BU WHAT: Friendly, fun & energetic korfball sessions for School Years 4-8.
