Bec 2 unbeaten run continues into 2018
First attack- Amy, Stu (C), James and Jess
First defence- Billy, Chloe, Jack, Kenzie
Bec 2 kicked off their 2018 at everyone’s favourite Korf stadium- Epsom College. Bec looked to work off all the turkey and mince pies against a strong Nomads 2 team in what looked to be an exciting game.
Bec 2 stormed to an early lead with quick goals from Amy. Billy soon followed with a couple of downtown bangers. A heavy firing Bec soon established a 5 goal advantage, playing some impressive free flowing Korfball throughout with goals coming from all over the pitch. Towards the end of the first half, Bec weren’t so clinic in their finishing but heavy defence pressure kept Nomads at bay. A strong finish in the final minutes, including a well worked goal from James, saw Bec go into halftime with a convincing (half time score) lead Bec started the second half as they had done the first.
Billy continued to be on fine form, with Jack, Chloe and Stu all contributing to the ever increasing goal tally. Nomads managed a few in return but Bec were relentless, with Jess adding a few drop offs to Bec’s total
Two subs were then made with Craig and Caitlin, making her first Bec appearance in 8 months following knee surgery, coming onto the pitch.
The subs fitted well into their division and continued to apply the strong defensive pressure that had been seen all game. In attack, some solid rebounding from Kenzie opened up great opportunities for the boys with Billy and Jack further extending Bec’s lead. A flurry of further goals from Stu, Craig and Amy sealed Bec’s victory with an impressive 21–9 win in their first game after Christmas
