    Tricky Tornadoes blown away!

Bec 1 headed down to Kent for an early start against an in-form Tornadoes team. Even though both teams have qualified for the Grand Finals, this match was certainly not going to be a quiet affair. Following intel acquired by our tactical team during the week, the squad were prepared to play against the Korfball game killer that is ‘Rebound Defence’. Combined with the infamous Aylesford Dustbowl/Ice rink surface, this game was going to be tricky. Bec didn’t get a chance to get

    A tough but enjoyable game!

Bec 3 vs Highbury 3 The thirds arrived early on Sunday for the usual cleaning/maintenance of Ernest Bevin before the arrival of Highbury. A difficult reverse game had Bec knowing they’d face a tough challenge. After a conversation and debate, we tried to keep divisions as similar as previously and off we went. The details evade me, but I remember we shot well out the gates into a 4-1 lead. However Highbury had other ideas and kept pegging away. Half time came with the score
    Supernova 3. 12-6 BEC 4.

    Supernova 3. 12-6 BEC 4.

The little horse of BEC 4 had strong hopes of gaining their first win of the season! Sadly these hopes were denied by bad luck and good finishing in South East London! With new signings Maggie and Nomi making their Bec debuts in first defence alongside super sonic Irfan and Luke (I hardly touched him) Barrett. First attack being the brilliantly named division of Jennie, Ceri, Lennie and Jonny.... Sadly Bec were in a black hole because of Supernova’s bright start as they raced

    Bec 1 march on...

After a strong start to 2018, backed up by a very impressive unbeaten run, Bec 1 looked to score another big win at the weekend. The opponents this week were a Nomads side who have proved tricky to beat this season. Bec can our flying and quickly went into an 8-0 lead. Nomads rebound defence style did little to disrupt Bec’s play. Some accurate shooting from Heather and Kenzie got them on the scoresheet early, whilst Dav and Blake combined beautifully to keep the goals coming

    A Mid-Week Bec Clash

A usual training night at Graveney turned into a Bec 4 vs Bec 3 Clash with Coach Ironmonger rooting for the 3rds and Coach Swain wanting the 4ths to get a win. The 4ths started with Luke, Josh, Carla and Jasmine in first attack who were up agaisnt Mark, Dan, Michelle and Jess from the 3rds. Defending for the 4ths were John, Lennie, Ceri and Jennie with Irfan, Jack, Kim and Anshul attacking. The game started with Michelle showing girl power from the off by getting two goals wi

Our match of the week is Bec 3 vs Croydon 3 in what promised to be a tense affair between two teams sitting on equal points in the LKL 2. Both teams started strongly, trading goals between them. Annie was on usual firing form as she breezed past her player to give Bec a narrow lead. Croydon found the Korf from range which helped keep things level. However, Bec reminded relentless in defence keeping the score at 3-3 as the game entered the latter stages of the first half. Som

Bec 2 unbeaten run continues into 2018

First attack- Amy, Stu (C), James and Jess First defence- Billy, Chloe, Jack, Kenzie Bec 2 kicked off their 2018 at everyone’s favourite Korf stadium- Epsom College. Bec looked to work off all the turkey and mince pies against a strong Nomads 2 team in what looked to be an exciting game. Bec 2 stormed to an early lead with quick goals from Amy. Billy soon followed with a couple of downtown bangers. A heavy firing Bec soon established a 5 goal advantage, playing some impressi

Bec 5 go eight points clear and looking strong

Bec 5 faced one of their toughest challenges yet against a strong Croydon side that had a mix of experienced and youthful players. The game was poised to be a thriller.... Bec started well but so did Croydon as neither team wanted to lose. Both teams battled it out for the full 60 minutes and goals were traded evenly. The visitors Bec displayed some impressive Korf at times and showed why they were unbeaten so far this season. Free flowing Korfball from Bec kept them ahead bu

    Bec 3 take the win

On Sunday 12th at 10:00 the mighty Bec 3 rallied their troops to battle Supernova 3, who we’d previously scraped a frustrating 8-8 draw with 2 weeks prior. Special thanks go to Jon Lyons, Jack McNamara and James Lydall for stepping in when we were short of boys and Mark Swain for playing despite recent injury. With the “enthusiastic” whistle blowing from the ref throughout meant it proved difficult to produce prolonged periods of play, which both sides suffered from. Special
